A non-profit educational center that demonstrates how farming was done in its heyday, Stonewall Farm is located in Keene, New Hampshire. At its center is a barn consisting of two main buildings, and a silo that was brought to the site and restored to contain the stairs for the main buildings. The primary timbers are made from salvaged wood and the braces were crafted from various tree species on the site, including cherry, ash, and oak. The stairs had to be designed so they could be installed within the enclosed space of the silo--in much the same way that a ship is built inside a bottle.
